A new medical drama inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes mysteries is in the works for CBS, but with a few surprising twists in store.

Watson promises a fresh and unexpected take on the iconic character of Dr. Watson from Sherlock Holmes mysteries in a modern setting.
The series will revolve around Dr. Watson returning to the medical profession to solve medical mysteries after the death of Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Professor Moriarty.
The show will pay homage to Arthur Conan Doyle's original idea of killing off Sherlock Holmes in a short story and continue the story in a post-Holmes era.
